Humans, The Genetic Engineers of The Xenomorph

$

After watching the movie several times, I realized that the quest for origin has always been the quest for ourselves. That said, this is how I arrived at my hypothesis.

So much theology is embedded into this story that it clouds reasoning by distracting the thinker into relating to mythology as some kind of proof that our ancestors experienced these giant humans. Remember David and Goliath?  Goliath was supposed to have come from a place where giants lived. Similar to these Human giant engineers.

The Greeks mention the Titans. As they point out (in the movie) in the archeological finds many people from all over the globe have similar accounts with giant humans. Mythology, theology, technology.

Let's forget for a moment about these continuos issues through out the movie. The existential aspects of who is our god if indeed a god made us and could we also make something else altogether subsequently becoming god to whatever we create.
This is where my theory begins.

In The first sequence where the Engineer drinks the genetic-sequencing-disruption-catalyst (black substance), he is being punished for something. He is destroyed down to the molecular level. What does this mean and where does this take place?  At the most often picked location for spiritual enhancement, near a body of water with an incredible view.

The bowl containing the catalyst looked like something used in religious rituals. Much like a challis or holy receptacle. The liquid was not something good he did not expect to be dissolved as he stood he looked shocked and scared. Probably lasted long because of the fitness level. Could this be a way to seed a planet? I would think it would take more than a few million engineers dissolving in water for even some seeding if this was possible . However I think he was following some kind of ritual or punishment.

Why would he be punished and why would we care as a viewer?  He is being punished for something big. How did the xenomorph come to be in the first place? It is a type of parasite that gets implanted inside a viable host. Like the wasp parasite that deposits it's eggs inside the wasp and then they hatch and eat their way out of the wasp killing it emerging as worms, which later mutate into the same insect that goes around infecting with parasites.

We can observe virtual evolution in metamorphosis. For someone to invent or design and refine this process, it would not be possible because of time constraints. So they did not make us or insects. Could they have visited earth and inseminated primates and we were the outcome? That option is viable but cruel since it would seem they mixed with apes to come up with us so we could become hosts to their xenomorph bio weapons. Why not just use pure apes? It requires a human host as we have seen.

So the engineers primed earth with people just to be hosts? Sounds like a hefty weapon with thousands of years in the planning. They must have figured out they needed human hosts and they did not want to be the hosts. They must have had a very difficult time containing the breeding xenomorphs they had, a weapon so destructive they could not control.

How did they find the creature "Face-hugger" that implants the parasite that turns into a xenomorph? It was possibly a native to the area in the form of a very small worm that when exposed to the melting catalyst grew into large one like the one that attacked them and sprayed acid blood when it was lacerated. It's head phallic in structure seemed to be made to fit inside a human mouth. This worm is the organism that was implanted by Dr Holloway when he has sex with Dr. Shaw. Those things were swimming in his eyeballs so likely swam along with the sperm and that is how that one got implanted.

It apparently did not die in the OR mobile Unit grows very fast into a giant face-hugger and unintentionally saves his host Dr Shaw from the crazy engineer. He seemed rather shocked to meet something stronger than him. The best part was the deep throat action and again we see the proboscis looks phallic in structure just big enough to penetrate a human mouth.

Why bother to go kill her after the crash? It would seem they understood English and DR Shaw asked why they were planning to unleash this on earth if they created humans on earth (by mixing with apes.) This made the engineer realize humans had advanced quite a long way in technology and could pose a threat in their plans of a xenomorph colony on earth using earth humans as hosts. He knew there were more ships but had to get rid of the problematic human. Maybe if he were to be found out he may have to end up like the one in the opening sequence.

However he gets implanted with a xenomorph parasite and it is born out of him . That leaves a live xenomorph with 2 years of supplies in the life pod. Maybe in that time he/she becomes hermaphrodite and starts it's own colony of face huggers who will await the next to visit.

If the engineers are human, then humans are the creators of the xenomorph. Who created Humans?  A catalyst and time.

Engineers energy

So what do you guys think do the engineers get all their energy I mean they travel the universe so they ust have stuff that's supper advanced. One of the things I think they use is dark energy encased in a space and time bubble or basically a miniature space of indefinitive distance encasing dark energy through some type of quantnum tunneling, or they could create and harvest the energies of miniature black holes or stars, also an antimatter core fused in a plasma coating ball, this is just theories but I just want to know what you think

Something that bothers me about the nature of particular nitpicks.

As an example, I've noticed that some scoff at the cuddles alien growing to such a size in a matter of hours while claiming it had no access to food of any kind and how that would be impossible, then when you bring up the fact the same thing happened in Alien fans will let it slide and reason that the alien found food off-screen. Now when you mention things like futuristic technology and medicine such as nanotech or drugs as being the reason behind Shaws faster than normal recovery from a deep abdominal wound they shrug it off and regard this as being "apologist" behaviour. I've said before there are rather a lot of annoying things in Prometheus I felt could have easily been explained with an added 10 or 20 seconds, like apparent character stupidity, with each scene that was under scrutiny. Maybe there was too much of that in this film, but still I've found some of the criticism between those that love Alien and dislike Prometheus to be somewhat reeking of a double standard.

I'm just curious because I find the way the internet works and the spreading of knee jerk trends and fashions interesting, I think Prometheus has been partially victim to this. If Alien had been released today, would people be criticising the fact that Ripley followed through with the self-destruct sequence even after she found Parker and Lambert dead instead of heading straight for the life boat? There seemed to be enough coolant on the Narcissus for the life support system to carry Ripley for the amount of time it took her to be picked up now the other two are dead (presuming that the coolant was for hypersleep of course, it's never explained what it was for... one can only assume!).

Black goo! Solved!....(spoilers)

Yeah, it's me again, with another "hopefully" polemic discussion! :)
So what do we know? Engineer + black goo = steering the whole course of evolution of earth, into us. Right? the engineers DNA and evolving it into us.

So in LV-223 it's breaking worm DNA and making  the Hammerpede right? ... WRONG!

Take a look at the substance david removes from the urn. Isn't it awfully similar to an Alien egg? Could it be that it's Broken down Alien DNA + Black goo. And if that is the case, Urn + worm does not equal better worm, it means the biological path to a facehugger.

Urn + worm = Worm like facehugger

Urn + sperm = Sperm like facehugger

Urn + Fiffield = Fiffield like Facehugger or xenomorph  (take a look at his movement, all weird and confusing, like a crab trying to walk like a human)

Why is it building facehuggers? because it's the first biological step to make a full grown xenomorph.

Engineer + goo makes us
Alien DNA + Goo makes them (and it achieves it in the end of the movie)

Just my theory though, feel free to share your thoughst.

Is Peter Weyland A Sociopath, A Psychopath, Or Someone More Complex Than His Negatives?

Let me start by saying that I've always thought that Guy Pearce's portrayal of Peter Weyland in the TED Talk viral is the best piece of acting "in" Prometheus. Of course, the TED talk doesn't appear in Prometheus. But it establishes enough background for Prometheus that I will just consider it another scene from Prometheus.

Reactions to Peter Weyland's persona have been wide and varied. Some have deemed him a "sociopath," others a "psychopath." And not without more than a little justification, I might add. Carolerious has rightly characterized the motives of Weyland Industries as "greedy douchebaggery." That one is so on the mark it's hilarious. Yet, in all, Peter Weyland himself inspires and creates an unprecedented chain of age-transforming technologies and resources. He ends global warming, he terrraforms planets; establishes colonies over 1000 light years distance from earth and other colonies within that rim. He also finances Project Prometheus. Like Gilgamesh he seeks immortality. He reads and quotes "Thus Spake Zarathustra."

Is his long list of achievements, as documented in the Weyland timeline, merely the productions of a mind askew, or something more?  As an additional intro to this thread I'm attaching, what I consider a brilliant video made by a fan that combines the Weyland TED talk with the primary Prometheus trailer.

Lindelhof seems remorseful....

Viscal recently posted an article and a video link of this

http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/07/14/damon-lindelof-comic-con-seth-grahame-smith/

Viscal states rather astutely that Lindelhof seemed somewhat remorseful.
It's interesting as a poster recently claimed on another site that Lindelhof dislikes how Prometheus turned out and rather regrets being involved in the whole thing.

This poster has a decent history and is rational and reasonable. The poster has a friend who knows Lindelhof. Of course it could be BS but it seemed geniune. I PM'ed the poster and promised not to repeat anything but it made complete sense and I believe them.

I have only posted this as Lindelhof does seem rather sullen and to an extent embarrassed by his involvement in Prometheus. I posted as a result of reading and watching the article and video in the news section. It just added up with my previous knowledge of this posters claim.

Engineers don't want to kill off the human race

I don't think the Engineers want to kill off the human race

IMO this was an isolated incident, in an extreme situation with a possibly military-minded Engineer.

How so?

He didn't start attacking the humans until AFTER David tried talking to him, & he touched him. BEFORE that he seemed rather patient & amused.

Also the strife with the girl screaming, and the other humans restraining her would send a signal to this possibly military-minded Engineer that these beings were violent, intelligent & dangerous even to themselves (let alone at a interstellar weapons depot).

Furthermore, he might have decided to kill everyone else to avoid having living HOSTS for the monsters in the jars, so he could contain the situation. Judging from the humans' turmoil & the girl's appearance he could have quickly come to the conclusion that they had already "tinkered" with the jars.

Another important LIE. Earth didn't stand out on the star charts until the very end of the scene where David enters the "cockpit" room. AFTER David had been playing w/ em for a bit. He could have lied about them having Earth as their next destination. Why? So the girl would come rescue his ugly head, his chances w/ her alive were better than with the Engineer.

Easy explanation as to why some of crew supposedly act rather 'deranged'

They all suffered chronic brain damage after being in hypersleep for two years and they came out of cryo as mongs.

Would that assumption let you enjoy the film now?

Prometheus DOOM 3

Hello everyone, I am the author and creator of a game mod of prometheus for the doom 3 game.

I have a moddb page setup with some screenshots and videos on youtube of some of the progress I have made so far.

I'm curious to know if anyone is really interested in my work in making this. I'd like to know if there are any 3d modellers out there that might like to contribute to this project as I'm only a one man operation building EVERYTHING, and it's a real handfull, more than I thought when I first started this project. I'm probably not saying everything I want to say here, but I do want to get the communitys input and feedback.

I know the mod is not an exact replica, then it would be too predictable, I still like to have some elements not explored but a possibility.

however I am recreating most of it closely as I can.....so much still to do and make.

for now, I'd thought I'd introduce myself and say hello and show some of my work on the mod so far. and discuss this with everyone, thanks !

and if you'd like to see the moddb page you can see that here:

and some videos on my youtube channel:

Comments opinions ,suggestions, I'd like to hear what on your mind about my PD3 project, Thanks Everyone! looking forward to your thoughts and perspectives.

About that exploding head ....

So many questions ....

1. How come if you poke an electrified popsicle stick into a 2000 year old Alien head it can come back to life?

2. If you can do that to a 2000 year old Alien head then why can't you just keep Waylen's head alive in a jar and save a trillion dollar mission?

3. W.T. F ! came out of that engineer head and made it explode anyway?  Was it a xenomorph?  If so, since when did they start exploding out of heads anyway??  And why didn't it pop out of that head 2000 years ago instead of now?

4. Why does a trained archeologist like Shaw, who is used to using toothbrushes (literally) to excavate a site so she won;t mess it up just grab up a head, stuff it into her bowling bag and lug it bag to the ship?  What kind of archeologist does that ? (Indiana Jones would never have done it)

5. How come the super advanced Engineer civilization's containment protocol for infected heads seemed to be (as evidenced by the hologram) basically - "O.M.G. -- RUN!"

The Hammerpede Scene

OK, i was looking forward to the hammerpede scene ever sinc ei saw it in trailers, and even though in the movie it was a bit underwhelming (mostly due to it cutting away just when things were getting good) it was still a great scene.

But i want to ask is what do you think happened offscreen? It cuts away just as the Hammerpede is going down Milburns throat and the Helmet caves in on Fifield but where did Fifield go and how did he react to the infection? I don't think it would have instantly turned him so i think maybe he tried to get out of the ship but couldn't find his way out and slowly lost his mind.

As for Milburn, when They find his body, his Helmet is smashed open (with burning around the edges and i think some of the inside of the helmet) and his face is greenish. I think he Tried to bite down but instead got the hammerpedes acidic blood everywhere inside the Helmet and then fell over smashing it.

What do you think happened to them after the camera cut away?

Mystery of the missing Merc is no mystery..
she KILLS him
SMOOSHES HIS FACE

I am surprised Ford did not die from that ..
And yes, I have seen the reviews.
Such as Spoony claiming Shaw was able to escape because she: "Now has the strength of a Xenomorph"

that is utter garbage
Only human with Alien transformation was Feifeild
Elizabeth murders Hazmat Man on her own.

I didn't notice David eating until the 4th time I saw the film..

Do they eat in Blade Runner?
Why?  What?
David wasn't blending in.

Can they have children, vomit, produce waste, etc?

Guys,

A few things to clear up re. the 'DNA match':

- the computer says match, not 100% match

- Shaw says their DNA 'predates' our and that we come from them

So boo hoo to anyone saying that Engineers are future humans!!!

Fox talks Prometheus Sequel

The studio's big summer bet was Ridley Scott's Prometheus, June's sort-of Alien
prequel. The $130 million-budgeted film grossed a solid but not
spectacular $303 million globally, putting it right on the franchise
bubble. Fox confirms to THR that Scott and the studio actively are pushing ahead with a follow-up (stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are signed) and are talking to new writers because Prometheus co-scribe Damon Lindelof might
not be available. "Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we
have to get it right. We can't rush it," says Fox president of
production Emma Watts, who also has overseen the successful reboots of the X-Men and Planet of the Apes franchises by turning over the reins to innovative filmmakers. A Prometheus sequel would be released in 2014 or 2015.

Loose ends

There are some loose ends in this story. I hope we get those answers in the next movie (Which, I guess, will be made)
I liked how the movie doubted the bible and the explanation of how we humans got made. Some conservative christians might have been offended there. I think Ridley's done a nice job with this movie in so many ways but those loose ends will have to be sorted out in a sequel.
