Space travel: not for the family man or woman

Given the huge distances involved in space travel and the amount of time spent in space by a crew (over 2 years in Prometheus) would it not be fair to say that to be a 'space trucker', marine or scientist would have a pretty drastic effect on your family life. How could you hope to ever keep a relationship going when you're on a space mission that will take you over 2yrs to get to your destination and another 2yrs to get back? Furthermore when you did get back to Earth everyone would have physically aged whilst, due to being in a cryotube on your mission, you have not. Plus, would it mean that people who embark on space missions would actually live longer than those who authorise the missions on Earth (or Mars, or wherever) due to the slowed down aging process?

All in all it strikes me that the return from a deep space mission would be very weird and unsettling - like out from prison after being in solitary confinement for years. I think that if you were seriously going to do such flights into space you'd have a be a certain type of person. What do you think guys?
