The SJ chair seemed somewhat pointless really.

I always assumed the chair in the SJ ship was akin to a pilots seat, but given the advanced nature of their plotting/navigation systems, plus the fact they have 4 cryo pods, it seemed almost redundant.

The navigation systems and course plotting seemed to be accessible via the control chair on the outer circle, so what purpose did the center chair really serve?
