I don't understand what the deal is with the cave paintings that point towards the system the movie took place in.
The planet was filled with ships, but the only ship the movie gives us any detail on has been crashed there for 2,000 years, it had been on it's way to possibly destroy life on Earth.
So, why is it then, that there are cave paintings of the Engineers pointing towards that star system that are 35,000 years old? That would be a long time before the ship crashed on that planet wouldn't it, and the Engineers were obviously on the planet telling ancient humans about that star system, why didn't those engineers just wipe life out, if that was there goal?
I really hope Prometheus 2 answers more of these questions and is released soon. This movie left me with way too many questions, many of which seem like plot holes that just weren't well thought out.
