Prometheus: a political perspective

I'm sure you all agree that politics play an important part in both Prometheus and Blade Runner.

The villain is a huge, faceless corporation that manipulates individuals and even entire nations with no qualms of conscience and no respect for human life (crew expendable). The monster is now human and was made possible because capitalism was a favourable political and economic environment, a perfect habitat. This echoes Karl Marx's views on corporate concentration and is already a commonplace theme in Hollywood movies.

The fact that the villain is faceless, makes things even more disturbing. In Alien 3, we do get a glimpse of some of their employees but we barely get to see their faces. And in Prometheus, Weyland is a dying old man that will be outlived by his company.

I wonder what Ridley Scott's political sympathies are.
